Community Media Trust (CMT) is part of the consortium for Scaling up Access for Expanded Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision (SAFE) in Namibia, led by ABT Associates and funded by USAID. CMT’s main purpose in the consortium is to assist with demand creation and mass media to which makes VMMC social norm in Namibia and encourages men aged 18 – 30 to volunteer for medical male circumcision.
Due to Covid-19, CMT was unable to travel and do focus group discussions with the target audience. We therefore successfully change, applied and introduced the existing Man Up brand to the audience, while monitoring their response on social media. The CMT team generates content for social media and manages the VMMC NAMIBIA platforms daily, interacting with the audience together with the Namibian team, while also gathering client data.
We developed and produced radio in the form of 4 Public Service Announcements and a 6-episode radio drama in 4 languages. The radio drama has also been turned into animations, suitable for both TV and social media. All demand creation strategies are supported with IEC material and other branded merchandise.
