Community Media Trust (CMT), a national NGO that focuses on empowering individuals and communities to take part in managing and improving their health, is seeking a Prevention Manager who is a high achiever with a strong work ethic. This position will be based in Durban/Pietermaritzburg or Pretoria.


The Prevention Manager will take full accountability for ensuring compliance with legal and donor requirements across the Priority Population Prevention Programmes implemented by CMT in in KZN and Gauteng.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  1. Project management of day-to-day activities required support programme implementation in 2 provinces.
  1. Line management of district Co-coordinators to ensure implementation of project activities and quality thereof, including travel to 5 project offices.
  1. Financial management, including:
  • Oversight of project expenditure, with support from the Finance Department.
  1. Human Resource management, including:
  • Managing all HR issues that arise within the project, including staff discipline with support from the HR Department
  • Recruitment of project staff, with support from the HR department;
  1. Programmatic management, including:
  • Donor liaison
  • Narrative and M&E reporting
  • Oversight of project M&E
  • Quality Assurance of Priority Population Prevention Activities
  1. Ongoing fundraising and seeking out new funding opportunities to ensure sustainability of project, including budget development and proposal writing


  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Masters in Public Health or associated degree.
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in project management and managing donor agreements
  • Demonstrated experience in formulating & implementing policies & procedures.
  • Knowledge of non- & for-profit organizational regulatory requirements, policies & procedures.
  • Previous management of PEPFAR grants
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong management skills and experience
  • Logical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent computer competency

Salary:  R480,000 to R600,000 per annum based on qualifications and experience.

Driver – Durban


Community Media Trust (CMT), a national HIV/AIDS Media and Outreach NGO, wishes to appoint a suitably experienced individual to serve as driver for a fixed period of 6 months (1 April to  30 September) in Durban. Applicants must reside in Durban. Applicants must have unendorsed valid SA Code 8 or 10 driver’s license with a PDP.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Careful and cautious driving of vehicles
  • Abiding by the rules of road and being responsible for any traffic fines incurred
  • Inspecting cars for defects and safe operating conditions before, during and after trips and submitting written reports on the condition of the vehicle(s) each month
  • Reporting any problems with vehicle(s) and ensuring it is repaired
  • Completing and maintaining an accurate vehicle log book
  • Management of petrol card and vehicle keys
  • Ensuring vehicle is well maintained, is kept clean and receives regular services
  • Ensuring car is safely parked at office premises overnight and is locked and alarmed
  • Passenger transporter – driving Durban field staff for work related meetings/events
  • Running errands for work related needs
  • Providing support for team overall
  • To complete ad hoc duties as requested from time to time by your supervisor
