Office Administrator – PMB – (R9,180p/m)

 

Community Media Trust (CMT) is a South African NGO focusing on communication in the fields of basic human rights. CMT aims to empower individuals and communities, encouraging them to take part in managing and improving their own lives, promoting healthy and health-seeking behaviour and basic human rights. It does this through media and outreach programmes that provide scientific information in a format that is easy to understand.

CMT wishes to appoint a suitably qualified/experienced and committed individual with initiative and strong administrative skills to provide support as the Office Administrator in our Pietermaritzburg office.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Providing administrative support in a variety of ways to assist the teams in the field;
  • Collating all office requests for activity costs;
  • Reconciliation of all expenditure;
  • Daily collating, capturing and emailing the Office Movements of all employees based at PMB office;
  • Filing of all office documentation as required;
  • Purchasing goods for office – refreshments etc.;
  • Maintaining the storeroom and ensuring it is kept in an orderly manner at all times;
  • Other administrative duties that may be required from time to time.

Youth Ambassadors, Khayelitsha, Cape Town

 

Community Media Trust (CMT), a national NGO that focuses on empowering individuals and communities to take part in managing and improving their health through media and outreach programmes, wishes to appoint 18 committed, enthusiastic and socially-minded Youth Ambassadors who would be based in Khayelitsha.

As a Youth Ambassador you will be expected to, first and fore mostly, be a representative for and role model to other youth in your immediate community.  You will be expected to network with potential community support and partner organisations locally to plan and execute mobilisation activities, such as youth open days and events that will inform and educate the youth in Khayelitsha about health services related to HIV & TB prevention and Sexual Reproductive Health.

 

The Youth Ambassadors will be expected to participate in task-sharing activities, working closely with our Community Mobilisers and Health Educators.  You will receive training on HIV and in the basics of using social media and will be the projects “eyes and ears” on the ground.  The Youth Ambassadors will report jointly to CMT’s Project Coordinator and the overall Project Manager.  This post requires 18 flexible weekly hours that might require the availability to work some weekends to fulfil the project goals.

 

Responsibilities may include, but is not limited to the following:

  • Running 2 youth groups per week, carrying out youth-related activities and including HIV messaging
  • Planning and execution of mobilisation activities in conjunction with our team of Health Educators and Mobilisers
  • Attend and assist with the planning and hosting of community-based awareness events, like school open days and other special events
  • Network with other youth orientated stakeholders and support partner organisations in the area
  • Keep up to date with health information, with a specific focus on Sexual Reproductive Health and TB
  • Gathering of relevant material (information and images) for posting on social media

 

REMUNERATION 

  • Monthly stipend of R1,750.00
  • Airtime/data provided for project purposes
